Borrow from another library

Our library is connected to other libraries throughout the state. If you can't find an item in our library, ask library staff to help you get it from another library.

If you can't find the book you're looking for on our shelf, talk with one of the librarians. Or, if you're browsing our website from home and can't find the book in our catalog, send an email. We can order it from another Iowa library, and they will ship it to us through the mail. Remember to include the title and author in your request.

  • The library does request $1.00 to help defray the cost of postage.
  • It generally takes a week to ten days for the book to arrive through the mail.
  • Length of checkout time varies from one library to another; you may be able to keep the book for two to four weeks.
  • You must have a library card, and your patron record must be in good standing - no unpaid fines, overdue materials, etc.
  • As soon as your material arrives, we will contact you at the number listed in your patron account.
