National Library Week

A list of events that are occurring the week of National Library Week.

Celebrate National Library Week at the Osceola Public Library, April 13 - 19.
2008 is the 50th anniversary of National Library Week and we have something special every day - 6 big days of fun!

Poetry Contest - Stop in today to pick up your entry form.
  • There will be 4 age levels with 3 prizes for each level.
  • The theme is "Why I like to read."
  • Your entry must be returned by April 9.
  • All contest entries will be displayed on Monday, April 14.

Book Discussion - Come read the book your neighbors are reading this year, then discuss it at the library.
  • The All Iowa Reads Book for 2008 is Digging to America by Anne Tyler.
  • Discussion will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15.

Craft Day for the kids - come make and take a craft.
  • Especially for kids ages 4 to 10.
  • Come anytime between 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 16.

Children's Story Hour
  • Especially geared for kids ages 3 to 5, with stories, songs and fun.
  • From 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, April 17.

Poetry Contest Winners announced
  • Friday, April 18.

Open House and Puppet show
  • Refreshments from 9:00 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 19.
  • Parasol Puppets take us to the Circus - show at 10:30 a.m.
